Fender Double 6

Post by Lance Bakemeyer »

I am interested in finding a Fender Double 6. I have been watching ebay for several months, but nothing has come up.

Does anyone know anything about those Galveston double neck steels that are on there all the time for around $150?

I have bought lots of the Chinese made steels and resonators. Most of the steels can benefit with a better pickup, and the resonators are ok as received. Now remember the top pro musicians will tell you different, as they hear tones and overtones that I do not hear. The way I see it the pros need the top dollar guitars and the amatuers need what they are capable of hearing, if a $100.00 guitar sounds good to you use it. In the music field we tend to forget there is Bach and there is Redneck Country. If you love the sound and it makes you happy, use it. If it don't make you a millioniare, then maybe it was not right, but if you were happy with it, that is what counts, if you are not relying on it to buy food.

When comparing a Fender to a Galveston, it's a lot like buying hay.

Do you want it before it's been through the horse or after? :whoa:
