Hey guys if you haven't heard this yet, this is a definite MUST HAVE!
Gary Morse has just produced a new CD titled "Resophonic Rodeo" which is absolutely terrific.
This is without question some of the finest, or in fact, THE FINEST Dobro instrumental album that I've ever heard in my life! On this new CD, Gary's playing a Paul Beard 7-String Resophonic guitar that was designed by Paul, specifically for Gary. You can read more about this in the URL below. This guitar has tone like nothing I've ever heard before.
Most of the songs on this CD are classics that I'm sure you've all heard and are familiar with. The big difference is the style that Gary uses when he plays them.
When you hear this CD I'm sure that you'll agree with me, that this is some of the most fantastic resophonic guitar playing that you've probably ever heard.
Its one of those recordings that you'll want to hear over and over again. Beleive me, folks, its one of those type of CD's that you just never get tired of listening to.
In addition to the dobro playing on this CD, Gary is also playing 5-string banjo and I mean . . . this is the kind of banjo playing you'll like listening to regardless of what you think of banjo players
As some of you may or may not know, Gary has recorded and toured with some of country's most respected artist, including Suzy Bogguss, Highway 101, Ricky Skaggs, Pam Tillis, Dwight Yoakum, and McBride and the Ride. Incidently Gary just finished an album with McBride and the Ride which is soon to be released.
Western Swing fans in particular are going to absolutely love these songs and the style in which Gary played them.
I've heard a lot of great resophonic players in my time, but honestly folks, I don't think I've ever heard anything better than this.
If you're interested in getting the new Gary Morse "Resophonic Rodeo" CD, you can order them direct from me through the Jagwire String Co. for $15.00 + Shipping, by either sending me an email or calling me at 989-539-7808 or 989-539-4715.

'Course, they also said that the Titanic was unsinkable...but I digress....
All joking aside, that's a really motivating review, Danny. I'm about half-way reaching for my credit card right now.
That's also one helluva pretty guitar.... |

Hi steve. Thanks, I'm glad you like the review. Steve, you really should get yourself a copy of this. Beleieve me, I know you'll love it, and the music selection is a lot better than the love theme from Titanic, "My Heart Will Go On". Hey Jerry. Thanks for the nice words, and I'm happy to hear you like the review. I'll definately be looking forward to seeing you in Grand Rapids this year! Hey... Maybe Gary, you and I could get up and do a set together? Whatcha think?
Regarding the rumor about me having a new CD coming out, yes, it's true. I did this one together with Mike Kile and Billy Cole, and I'm hoping to have it available in time for the Texas Convention.

Eric. I'm fresh out of "Dr. Danny's Elixir" right now, but would you settle for a bottle of Jagwire Aluminum or Mica polish?
Hey, the music on Gary's CD contains all the "elixir" a guy would ever want. So order yourself one. It will cure whatever ails ya. |
