Hi Craig sure glad you are having a steel guitar Jam. I have had five of them in Rhode Island and now I'm going to have the first Steel Jamboree in the state of Vermont where I just moved to in November.I'm the founder and President of The Rhode Island Steel Guitar Association and have it chartered with the State.I will still run the R.I. Steel guitar Assoc. and have the annual
Steel Show in September.I may charter the Vermont Steel Guitar Assoc. also and the first steel Jamboree here is July 28th.We just have to keep having these fine times for our Steel Players and keep pushing the steel guitar. If theres no steel guitar it is'nt Country.Keep on Steelin if you got the feelin.

Samuel, I thought I had plenty of players, but, gees when I contacted some they got bookings for those dates. It puts me in a spot, but I will overcome somehow. I always do.

Craig,
I imagine that a lot of the players are scheduled at the Texas show. It's the same week end this year. It's usually the 1'st week end in March.....

Bobby, this was mostly local people that probably wouldn't go to Dallas anyway. I would not have set any of this up had I known that several were going to back out like they did.

Craig,
Wisconsin is ONE OF Three stated of the US that I havn't been to..North Dakota and Minnasoata being the others. I've ramroded on Jam here in East Tennessee...which I say was a success by the major pickers and lowere Leval pickers gratousley giving their time, energy and talent.to appear. The Greats Herby Walace,Mike Sweeny, and Bryan Adams, along with Jerry Fleming, Steve Lenord,Pat Jenkins..and supoort by Fred Layman, Donna Hamets' Dad Ben Broaden,Doc Peters some of the gang from Dolly's Pigion Forge Show and some locall talent. The attendance wasn't great..but we still had a good time and it was worth the effort. But I suggest that you contact some of the people who have produced very succesfull Jams/Shows..who have the experience of the "Ingrediences" for cooking up a 1st class show. .You learn by experience ,but a little help can'r hurt.
I'm sorry to say that I am booked that weekend..or I would make every effort to make the show. I missed a good one ine Danville ,Va last weekend due to last minute complications..but I'm going to make an effort to get to the Middleburry,Vt Jame..and also Bill Hankey's Berkshire Bash in a few months....There are many more local ones for me ..Ohio, Kentucky,Georgia, Saluda,Winston-Salem.......That I want to try to get to....But my "Pickun' dates are starting to "PICK" up

Craig, something I've learned in 20 years of putting on steel shows -- It's easy to plan a show; holding them together after you've planned them is the hard part. But don't give up, you'll get the hang of it after a few attempts.
