Hey Speedy, Barbara and I want to wish you the happiest of birthdays. Maybe there is something to it when Mary says "you're not getting older, you're just getting better" . Have a great day, a big "hug" to Mary for us and we'll see you both in Dallas.

Many Happy returns for you Speedy.Just a few of you guys like Jerry Byrd, Noel Boggs, Alvino Rey and Joaquin Murphy showed us how it is supposed to be done. Thanks for the many years of allowing us to have been so fortunate enough to have had this great opportunity. Your music, and friendship is greatly cherished and respected from this steel guitar wannabee player. You have such a big heart. HAPPY BIRTHDAY and the very best to you for your health and happiness.

Happy Birthday Speedy. You have been a hero of mine since I was 16 years old and new at the instrument. One of the highlights of my steel guitar playing times was the first time I played the Tulsa show and you sat on the front row right in front of me and smiled as I played and after the set you in a very sincere way told me "it was a great set". I have never forgotten the boost I got from that because I knew you really meant what you said. Coming from you that was as great a compliment as I have ever received for my playing efforts.
Your friend always,
Jerry Roller |
