Well not really my first gig, but it is the first gig on Steel since my return a few months ago after 10 or more years away. Feb 8th in Pageland SC. So all you Pageland residents I expect to see you and your entire families there ! Bring your wives, bring your girlfriends, heck, bring em' both ! My return to Steel has been very unique in a couple of ways. First and foremost, the Forum here has been a major factor in my mindset and my Steel plaing friend here in Charlotte, Joe Smith , has been monumental in making the connection between the band and me. It's a 6 piece band, killer Tele player...excellent song list, they try to stay close to the record especially on intro's and endings which is really good for me as it is enforcing practice and playing disciplne. I'm playing on my Carter D10, 8+5 thru a Nashville 400 and will also play a few tunes on the Strat ( what a bore ). What is my goal here ? It's not to be recognized and known in Charlotte as the best steel picker around, there's already at least two great players in town, that being Joe and Buster, My goal is to be recognized as a reliable sober good guy who is a quality musician who fits in and can cut the gig. Let's see, I am sober, I think I'm a reasonably nice guy, and I am reliable . I guess I just need to concentrate on the quality musician part ! Ok all you Pageland SC area folks ,Feb 8th, don't be late...Be there or be square !

Excited
TP

PS, I don't know where the gig is yet but it shouldn't be to hard to find, Pageland only has one or two streets and a few buildings !
AND..the name of the band is "Mid Life Crisis" out of Charlotte NC.

Hi, Tony

What sort of venue is it? I may have to be in Charlotte that day and, if I can face grinding my way along '74', I may come and say 'hello'.....

Who's the 'tele' player?

Best of luck, anyway - have a great night!

Hey Roger, yes you will BUMP and grind down 74, try to do less bumping than grinding... . The gig is in Pageland SC which is about 20 miles sorta south of Monroe at the American Legion Hall located on , get this, Legion street ! It's a dance open to the public. The Tele player is Sunny Falls out of Charlotte, at least I think thats how you spell is last name. He is really a fine player and a real nice guy.
Kinda far from Asheville but ya never know..

Way to go Tony !!
I know that you will do a great job.
By the way the guitar player's name is Sonny Falls. One great picker and a really nice guy.
Good luck.
