Drove thru a snowstorm to the show..about 1.75 hrs to Bethlehem, ususally takes 45 minutes.
The performance started late 'cause the "opening" act was snowbound;so the Campbells opened their own show.
What a band! There's something about siblings/close family members making music together that is magic...they played about 45 minute set
then there was a long intermission while the "opening act", the McCullough Sounds of Thunder Brass band got stage set.
they proceeded to play for about 1.5 hours... okay, but not Sacred Steel.
because of the late start and all the campbells didn't get to do another set.
drag.
Did get to talk a bit with Chuck Campbell who was very generous with his time explaining his PSG tuning to a young man who'd been playing about 6 months, and anyone else who asked.
Chuck asked my name as we shook hands and when I told him he cocked his head, smiled and said "I've seen your name on the Forum!!"
drove home 1.25 hrs and here I am again...
so all in all drove about 3 hours to hear 45 minutes of the Campbell Bros.
you might think I'd be disgruntled... |

Dave, the Campbell Bros. are the nicest people that you can meet and they are generous and enthusiastic when it comes to sharing/explaining steel guitar. I will definately see them again when they come by my way. |

So sorry to have missed this one. I had intended to go, but was deterred by the snowstorm. What a wuss!
