Is this eBay item real, or did someone just stick a Sho-Bud logo on a Telecaster ?

That's not the traditional shape for a "Fender"tele headstock. I think somebody stuck it on. A nice looking guitar!!!

That's the shape of a Strat neck. When you buy a replacement neck, Fender does not allow the seller dealer to use the factory logo, even for a licenced replacement. So, they come blank. Someone, in this case added a Sho-Bud logo to a blank Stratocaster neck. I can't believe the price! $2,495.00!

I just wrote the seller, and explained to him that the electrics Shot built did not use the same decal as the steels, and that he has an obvious forgery. I'll let you know what his response is.

He's local here in Nashville, too...

I remember A fellow by the name of Bill Meritt who worked at Sho-Bud. He also worked some with the Drifting Coyboys. He used to refinish old Tele's and put a red neck on them. He called them "The Red Neck Fender". They sold them at the Sho-Bud retail store. I think he even had a decal on each on saying just that. Bobby

I think it was a scam too. I emailed the seller twice and received no replies.
Does anyone know what the headstock / decal on the few REAL ones that were made looked like? Anyone have pics of a real one?

He hasn't answered me, either. That body style wasn't available when Sho-Bud was building them, either, I don't believe.

I got a feeling this may be ok, I have an old Sho-bud catalog back in the Uk and for some reason I seem to remember seeing something like that, I may be wrong but then again....

Nope... no bids. He sure had a lot of "lookers" though. I have been trying to gather information about the old Sho Bud 6 string line but have been unsuccessful excepting the website I found that I posted earlier. There is very little about them listed anywhere. If anyone has any suggestions of where to look or has any info about the guitars I would be interested.
