I have used guaged rollers on Emmons guitars and was wondering if any were availiable for Sho-Bud Guitars. Does anyone know who (if anyone) makes them?
Thanks,

Try Don Burrows - http://bsgsteelguitars.com/
Don will make them for you but you will need to send him one roller as a template.

Paul Franklin, SR, told me that when he worked at Sho-Bud he worked on the problem of some strings "rattling", which is a problem on many Sho-Buds that have gauged strings. Through his investigation he found one gauge roller that could be used for all the strings and it eliminated the problem. He said David Jackson at first didn't want to hear about the fix but later relented and Sho-Bud started using one gauge for the rollers.
This came up as I asked him why my Franklin (and all Franklin's) do not have gauged rollers. His reason for not doing it on the Franklin was based on his Sho-Bud experience. |
