Man, that organ trio stuff is sensational. I thought I was hearing some undiscovered Wes Montomery sessions.

Sure wish there was a B3 player around here who could really kick it.

Superb guitar playing, Mike. Why arn't you playing jazz on pedal steel? ...Or are you?

Thanks fellas for the nice compliments.
Jerry, I am more interested in the E9 country western style although I do attempt to play some jazz on the steel. I just picked up the steel a year and a half ago so I have a long ways to go before it gets anywhere near my guitar playing.

Mike, we're kind of in the same boat. my friends thought i'd go straight for C6 on the steel given my jazz guitar background. (although you're a much more advanced guitar player than i am. my guitar playing falls somewhere between the 2 Barneys, Kessel and Rubble!). i'm also lost in the world of E9 honky-tonk steel and spend about 90% of my time on it. i really dig your guitar playing and hope we can hook up sometime.

Hey Dave thanks. Barney Rubble...lol! I hope we can hook up next time I'm down in Texas. I was in San Antonio last November visiting Rick Price but didn't have time to see all the people I wanted to. Hopefully we can hook up next time I'm down there. I love your playing on Bobby Flores' recordings. Super tasteful and never too much. You have the knack for fitting right in, and never overdoing it. That's an art in itself.

I have Mike's jazz album and it smokes.
One of the top guitar players in the forum IMHO.
DLD, Chili farmer. Plus bananas and papaya too.

Real happiness has no strings attached.
But pedal steels have many!

One of the top guitar players in the forum IMHO.
He also has an NYC aquantance of mine,
Dennis Irwin, on bass.

Dennis is very modest and seriously BAD on upright.
I did a Dvorak IV symphony From The New World
and worked for months on it.
Dennis came in and sight read it that day....

This is the kind of sideman Mike gets!

Mike, those jazz tracks are killer! Lots of chops but still very melodic and grooving with some very subtle quotes thrown in on "Small Hotel". Having spent many years and many, many hours with jazz guitar, I really enjoyed those clips. Thanks for posting, Mike.

Mike's Jazz CD is smokin! Probably one of my favorite contemporary jazz CD. Its got the feel and tone of classic players like Wes and Joe Pass, and its damn refreshing.

Dave, I really like the Leroy's Swing CD. I can't get enough of the gypsy jazz. You played fine at Green Bay--I think I have the Biller Wakefield set on DVD if you want a copy.
