Does anyone know if there's a Rains dealer in Canada ? I'm not getting any response from their website.

Don, I just talked with Gary Carpenter and he informed me that there are no Canadian dealers.
The best way is to call there and talk to Gary.
The number is: 817-560-2277

Gary's number is not hard for those around here to forget..... He's had it for year's...... 560-CARP.

Funny thing was, back in the 80's , 90's anytime you called him, he was always at his steel... No matter the time. He'd answer the phone, and be noodling around on his axe. I remember often he'd say, "man, listen to this chord I just found". It explains a lot about what a monster he has become.....

Not only is Gary a monster picker. He is a great guy. He has helped more than he'll ever know in my quest to play pedal steel. I can hardly wait till the Dallas show to watch him noodle around some more.

Jim, I am with you 100% here! My first time talking to Gary was yesterday, and I came away from that 20 minute phone conversation a wiser and happier man. The one reason for my call...to inquire about dealers... promptly led to another question and that answer led to another question and so on.
I was totally awestruck by this man's kindness and generosity. He willingly answered my questions about steel building at the same time as he volunteered advice and tips on materials and other aspects.

This is my idea of a true professional...no sarcasm or know-it-all attitude. People like Gary are pro and they know it. They have nothing to prove.

I came away with the feeling that I had just made a new friend.

Hi. I agree with the rest who have said how easy Gary is to talk to. Just as easy to deal with. Bought a steel from him last month and found him very accomodating.

Ditto for the above and more. Gary is a great person, steel guitar player and instructor. As a beginning steel player I will give credit to Gary for any high-quality playing I do in the future. However, I reserve the right to take credit for all the bloopers. After all I need to take credit for something. As a side note Gary makes the best Steel Guitar around. "THe Rains"
