And do not expect to get rid of it soon, but.
I just bought an almost unused mint condition N400, put a new long plate tube in my BB and installed Tonealigner pickups in my PP all in a couple of weeks.
The N400 gave me more tighness, the BB mellowed the highs and hardened the low end the Toneagliners with their adjusting screws allowed me to balance the highs and lows. I was a happy camper this last weekend.
I know what I want to hear, I buy items that I think will get me to where I want to go. Some times I win and sometimes I don't. But I have a goal in mind always.

It took me the biggest part of my life to be cured! I'm almost there and will be cured after a few more purchases! Please, just a few.....a Hilton pedal.....
a pair of Nashville 112s...... an Excel Superb (I still can't decide S10, S12 or D10? but it will be keyless!) (Sometimes I even think a D10 keyless
Williams cross-over? would be my choice, but can't say for sure til I play one!!?) Let's see, did I forget anything else I might need? 6 months of woodshedding to get through Joe Wright's book on how to play the pedal steel! More thumbpicks from Sonny Curtiss.....and a new BJS 10 string bar! Pass this list on to my children before 2/5/08 & next fall I'll be PSG free! Cured! Cured! & I can become the first president of PSG Players Annonymous! |

Me too. I buy mostly keyboard related stuff, but I get out of control. I've tried that over the counter gas relief, but usually spend a couple hundred bucks more on other stuff at the counter just out of habit (anyone need any Tylenol or laxatives?). I go to my doctor to get some prescription G.A.S. relief, but I end up spending thousands on blood tests, MRI's, CT scans etc. There's just no hope. Staying home doesn't help because of online shopping. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . GAS is an uncurable condition. The best you can do is learn to cope with it. Maybe find a support group? I know a couple GASsers in your area, Larry! |

Larry from the sound of it I don't beleive your GAS has hit chronic levels yet You may still have time to medicate it with a new guitar too _________________ The Lone Prairie Steeler Pat |

Patrick I go rid of my last PP and when another direction. I am back to a PP and it would take a lot to get me to change at this late stage in the game.

Proof you can't be too young (or too poor) for GAS: I'm twenty-five, a wage worker, been playing for 3 years and can't even walk through my cheap apartment without tripping over something old, stunning and twangy.
What moron gave me a credit card, anyway?

What's really scary is that I still want an old Rickenbacker Lap Steel - no player named Ricky doesn't - a Telecaster, and a brand new PSG (when/if I get "good enough" at it).
Obviously this is unlikely to end until:
a) I run out of credit agencies
b) I marry the wrong girl
c) I die |

Larry,
Send your amp chassis to Ken Fox for the mod on your 400. Then you can "see" just what your're listening for. I have the Emmons single coils on my '81 still and the result is great.

Sorry but until you get rid of that OCD you will not get rid of GAS. First you treat the source and the sympton goes away. |
