That is so twisted, but it's wonderful.

Does this qualify as "headbanger" music?

I've seen another "shred" video of Eric Clapton that's quite amusing, too.

Has Homeland Security been notified about this? Talk about weapons of mass destruction. Definitely dirty bombs.

Very Funny!

There are quite a few comments by folks that can't take a joke. I suspect these are the same folks that believe Bluegrass should only be note-for-note traditional renditions. I've heard these folks called "Grass-Holes".

I'll betcha Earl would have a good laugh at this clip!

I thought it was really funny but I wonder how much laughing would be going on here if it was Buddy Emmons? :whoa:

The Big E Shreds !

I had the same thought, Russ. It's only a matter of time.
I'd laugh, and I suspect Buddy would too.

To do the same to some recently deceased icons of the Steel Guitar would likely start a riot.

Earl has always been one of my heros, same as Chet,or Buddy Emmons,Earl was'nt the first banjo player no more than Chet was the first guitar player or Buddy was the first steel player, but look what each did for their instrument of choice,Some may not like Bela, but I love where he has taken the banjo,He said what turned him on to the banjo, was hearing Earl on the Beverly Hillbillys when he was a kid.DYKBC.

Joey,

My thoughts as well. I think though, just as blugrass has the hard core that would be offended we would see many of our own hard core not finding it funny. ITRTTOTT!

But, I'm still lauhing!

Yes very funny.

Earl likes Bela and guests on his albums.

This is funny and I am s8ure seeing an old clip
of Buddy in that hat but totally shreded would
most likely tickle his funny bone too.

The man KNOWS he can play and everyone else does too.
But no doubt the dicotomy of the sound track ACCCKKK
and the original would bring a smile, that IS the idea.

Defiled, deflowered, decompressed discom-b0b-ulated.
:)
DLD, Chili farmer. Plus bananas and papaya too.

Real happiness has no strings attached.
But pedal steels have many!

Hey Russ... I wonder why somebody hasn't already done one of these with Emmons.
Since we all know what he really plays like, we just might get a kick out of it...
btw...there's a great one of these on YouTube with Oscar Peterson and Joe Pass.

I think that clip is real funny,I have some friends that have a very good hard core blue grass band,If they saw a clip like that of Mr.Monroe, they would NOT see the humor.DYKBC.

Just hilarious. It's pathetic that some people get all solemn and serious about this stuff. I bet the artists are killing themselves laughing at these clips.

On an Eddie Van Halen shred clip, somebody is defending his playing in a comment, as if it was the real deal.....hilarious.
