When I use sites like online banking or ebay, this security pop up message always comes up asking for a yes/no check. Is this necessary or can I "tone" it down?

Ron;
Please elaborate on the exact wording of the "security alert." Maybe then we can try to understand what it means and offer some helpful advice.

The top of the box says security information. Then it says, this box contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display the nonsecure items? You have to check yes or no.

Ah. Yes, that is an Internet Exploder annoyance. Here is how to tame this shrew:

  • Open your Internet Options
  • Go to the Security tab
  • Click on the "Custom Level" button
  • Scroll about half way down the list of options to:
  • "Display mixed content"
  • Change the selection from "Prompt" to "Enable"
  • Click "OK" then "Yes" on the popup challenge box
  • Click OK to close the Internet Properties box
  • Restart the browser.
