cheap knee lever fix

Post by Clarence Wilson »

I have mentioned this some time ago:
Go to Lowes (or some place) where they handle plastic water tubing.
purchase about 5 feet of half inch. Cut with a hacksaw about 6 inch
lengths of the stuff per knee lever. Heat very quickly the end
( over stove top burner, etc.) and shove it up onto the lever. Cut
off any excess to fit your needs. This method also can be used to

extend the levers for short-legged players. I use them on all three

steels.

What is it you're trying to fix with the water tubing?

Terry Wendt showed me this method when i saw him in Nashville a few years back.
He said it makes using the KL's more comfortable.
I have since used this method to extend the knee levers on a Steel where they were just plain too short for me. I chose the black tubing, cut all to the same length, looks pretty good, too.
