I fancy trying one of these postings that should get you all replying..For me it's SHANIA TWAIN in HYDE PARK London about 3 years ago.. Mavericks were there too.. ROBBIE WILLIAMS at Knebworth was VERY good too..

All the best to you all, I am DEFINATELY not posting any more YouTube stuff and getting on with some proper jobs and looking forward to going back to work.. I spent all my savings on my girls at Christmas and need to save some DOLLARS now for my 4 days in the big D in March..

I REALLY hope Buddy is there, Lloyd too and that will make my dreams come true...

The Electric Flag with Mike Bloomfield at the Boston Tea Party, with honorable mention for The Band at Harvard Stadium. Or maybe Janis Joplin's very last show at Harvard Stadium. I dunno, there are too many to even think about.

I don't attend many concerts. There aren't many around here that I would pay to go see. I did miss the Eagles a few years ago in Billings, MT a few years ago. Still kicking myself over that one.

Saw Merle at Ft. Yates, North Dakota a few years back. Norm wasn't able to be there but Joe Manuel was fantastic.

A year later I saw Asleep at the Wheel at the same place we saw Merle. They were fun too see. Fiddle player is awesom. The steel man plays pedal-less, which I really like and appreciate, but I don't really understand why. For my money, Hag's always the best.

I had seen every rock band imaginable at the Filmore, Longshoremans and Cow Palace in San Francisco. Even got a chance to play a show or two with a couple.... but one night in 1966 my father drug me to the Vallejo Dream Bowl to see Buck Owens and the Buckaroos (Buck, Doyle, Willie, Don and Tom). I have never to this day seen a group that affected me with so much emotion. It changed my life so to say.... that was the best night ever!!!

Have been in a band that opened for them a few times,It would be The Dempseys from Memphis,The hottest trio on the planet,no doubt.Of course this is just my opinion.If you ever get a chance to see them,you won't regret it.DYKBC.

Back in the 70's I saw Fleetwood Mac, Jefferson Starship and Jeff Beck at the old Busch Stadium, a really great show.
My wife says her favorite is Richie Havens(early 70's), and the Keb Mo show.She is always right!

Hard to pick just one...It's a Beautiful Day...The Dead back in 1970...Derek and the Dominoes in (I think) 1970...the Stones and Stevie Wonder in '72.

But I guess the best of all was seeing The Band in 1995 or 96. It was amazing...after all those years. It was the last date on their West Coast (High on the Hog) tour at The Roseland Theater in Portland. They were absolutely on. Rick died a couple of years later, but on that night he was ON, and so were Garth and Levon...giving their all. It was a great show, one I'll never forget.

I was at that Janice Joplin show at Harvard Stadium. That summer they had an incredible series of concerts. I saw Ike and Tina, Mountain,and a bunch of others. I'm from West Roxbury and a bunch of us would go every week. Also the shows at Boston Tea Party and Psykadelic (sp?) Supermarket. Whoo- hoo!!

Well, I would have a real hard time naming a "best"! I have been fortunate though to get to see all my most favorite performers, most many times. They have all been great...Hag, Jones, Waylon, AATW, Watson, Strait.....just too many to list!

There are a couple of shows that are more memorable than most. One time in Branson I was on the front row at a Waylon show and he noticed I was singing along with some songs that were just on albums. I guess knowing he had a true fan there, he started walking over in front of me when he would play lead. Then after one of his lead breaks, he looked straight at me and gave me a thumbs up, as in saying "thanks". It caught me off guard and I just set there. Later in the show I was able to give him a 2 thumbs up and say "thank you". He smiled and winked in appreciation!

The other was about 3 years ago on Valentines night in Luchenbach, Tx. Asleep At The Wheel was there and I had my daughter there (4 yrs. at the time). We got up at the stage and I set her on the stage setting up against one of the speakers. Through the whole show, Ray & Jason (fiddle) was making eyes at her and waving. It was special to both of us to say the least!

Top show for me was The Drive-By Truckers at the Vic Theater in Chicago in 2006. I had just started listening to the band, wasn't that familiar with their material and they blew me away! The most interesting part was when I noticed that John Neff was on steel in the background and playing the most tasteful licks in rock and roll--Amazing!

Best performance had to be after a Ray Price Show about 25 years ago. After the show, Buddy went to a small bar in a bowling alley where he sat in on someone else's steel. I sat mesmerized five feet away until 3 o'clock in the morning when it finally broke up.

Almost too many to list.. I hung out at the original Electric Factory in Philly when I was in high school.. the list of bands I got to see was beyond normal.CREAM, Hendrix, The Who. Jefferson Airplane, BB KING, Pink Floyd, the Mothers Of Invention, The Fuggs, Vanilla Fudge.. it was like being at the Filmore.
My favorite was Jimi at both the EF and at the Philly Rock Fest... his hair was blowing back from the air that his Marshall stack moved. The Philly Rock Fest also has The Dead & Steve Miller & The Allmans
I wish I had seen The Band..
The best gig I ever played was... I haven't played it yet .

Everly Brothers 1972 with Waddy Wachtel on guitar, Warren Zevon on keyboards, Russ Kunkel on drums and I don't know who else. Canadian Murray McLaughlin opened.
