Cold Cold Heart....David Hartley....YouTube

Post by David Hartley »

Hi forumites. Here's 'Cold Cold Heart' for you. I've tried a 'Micky Adams' camera angle on this one. It's not to constructive I'm afraid but it may help one or two of you out there. I think I pickled my brain last night with Greene Kings Abbot Ale with some Brandys in the evening too! It didn't do the trick as I've still got my cold...and my cold cold heart! Anyway, thanks for all your comments, I read them all.. Regards, David Hartley.

PS.. There is an audio drop in near the end which does not quite match my picking and bar movement just for about 3 seconds...Thought I would mention that as I know someone will spot it!

Good sound and nice playing and a good video angle. Next video you do, take a small lamp and place it on the floor out of sight of the video and let some light illuminate your foot work. That would be a nice touch.

David,

Very nice as usual.

I like the camera angle better. Can't see your facial expressions but now I can see your feet. I've tried following the facial expressions from others too but I learn more from the foot work.

Still some guessing on the knees but I can live with it.

Thanks for sharing,
Jim

Howdy David, great job mate, after watching your Cold Cold Heart video I gotta ask, are you using a 12 string bar?

See you in March. :-D

I don't think so, its a 15/16th BJS 10 stringer. Why, does it look like a 12 stringer then?
I have something you will all REALLY like coming up later, I am just finishing the recording now..(and dont ask me to tab it!) you will see why later..

David if it gets any better than this; man I can't wait. Might be worth a few quid if some of your versions are tabbed??

David,
Very good as per usual. What are you doing with your 4th pedal? Also like the camera angle much better.

Why has the pedal steel been such a force in country music and what made so many on this forum gravitate toward the pedal steel? I suspect it was because of music just like this version of "Cold, Cold Heart".
This is the real deal. Thanks David.

That sounded great David. The camera angle was perfect. You can see every move.

We have been having some fun with this song over in the Steel Without Pedals section.

David....might you be able to share your digital delay settings for this song?

You did a fantastic job on this....honestly, you could make some dough on the side if you were to tab this stuff out and sell it. HINT HINT!!!!
