We are using the Microtel Motel which is about 7 miles from the Moose Lodge. Tell them you are there for the Kannapolis steel jam. I will have rates next week.

Microtell 704-782-2300

There are 3 or 4 other motels at this interchange and it is right off 85.

Directions:

DIRECTIONS TO EVENT: For those that will be headed South on Rt.85 towards Kannapolis NC. Take exit #68. Go through two stoplights then (1) flashing light then turn left at the next stoplight onto Old Beatty ford Rd. Go approx 1 mile. Moose Lodge will be on the left.

DIRECTIONS TO EVENT: For people that will be headed North on Rt. 85 towards Kannapolis NC. Take exit #58, this will put you on Rt29 north. Go approx 7 miles (through Kannapolis until you see the Landis City Limit Sign. Go another 1/2 mile until you come to stoplight and turn right on Old Beatty Ford Rd. Go approx 1 mile, Moose Lodge will be on the left.

FOOD--Great Food is being made available on premises.

Visit: www.masga.org - I am traveling but should have the web site updated early next week.

Hey!! All you Lap-Steelers (non-Pedal).ER and Glen have
set aside an hour during the lunch period on Saturday
to play your instruments of yester-year.
So load up your non-Pedal Guitar and join us. I am taking my Old Rickenbacker I used during the 50's and early 60's. We will do some Hawaiian,Hank,Eddy, etc from that era.
Going to be a lot of fun!

Hi Vernon if I was down in North Carolina I would be bringing my Lap Steel along with my Pedal Steel. I have been Playing around with a lap steel I have and I have been picking up a lot on it.I have been picking up a song a day and I love it.I think I do better on the lap Steel than I do on the Pedal Steel.Sure would like to be there but who knows maybe some day.

Come on - you "Lap-Steelers"! We are going to have a good time "turning back the clock" - for one hour at least. I am a far cry from the talent of Vernon, but I going to try at least one song!!!!

The Microtel was booked solid as of last week. I had to book at the Econo-lodge. Good rates there also, same vacinity as the Microtel.
