Nick, its too bad that you aren't gigging NYE, but if you decide to go out I'm sure there'll be plenty of great steel players to go out and hear that night. If not, I hope you and your wife have a good time. Its getting tougher and tougher to get the good money for New Years these days. I would'nt want to play for any less than the 2x the normal rate. I've been lucky to always be able to pull a NYE gig out of the hat, sometimes even at the last minute. It would be cool to have it off sometime, but I probably wouldn't know how to act.

I'll be playing at the local Elks lodge here in Great Falls, actually more like cringin' as one of the other forumites put it. Worst part of the whole thing is Elk hunting season is over, so if I do happen to see one, I won't be able to shoot him,Har! Har! I'd rather go see Ron Elliott play, so if anyone is near where he is playing, you should go see him, it's a real treat.

Hey Joe, aren't the Drams the former Slobberbone? That's cool if your playing with those guys. I think Gary Carpenter played on a couple of Slobberbone CD's.

Hi Chris, yeah its basically the same band as Slobberbone, who I toured with as well.......we are playing with the Old 97s on New Years.

I will be playing in my new recording studio I got for Christmas. (And of course chasing Teresa around the house!)Works for me...not a big fan of NYE gigs. I played so many of them as just another night when I did sit down that it's never been a big deal.

Since I have not played a new years eve gig in years I guess I will post. Sure hope I can stay awake tomorrow night, not used to seeing the new one in. I will be at the Longhorn Saloon inside the Dodge House Hotel in Dodge City, Kansas. Sounds real country huh? Well I wish it were more so. The music I mean................... What's happening to the Opry is happening to me.
Happy New Year all.
