We're pretty fortunate to be able to see them here in Northern California on a semi-regular basis, and my wife and I love to dance to their music.

I've made a few folks into steel guitar fans by bringing them to the show, and introducing them to Bobby, who is always the consummate gentleman.

I saw Merle Haggard's former fiddle player, Paul Anastasio from Seattle in this band.

Roger,

Don Burnham hires him to fiddle for Lost Weekend whenever the budget permits. He is an interesting person. Did you know that among his mentors were Joe Venuti and Joe Holley?

He regularly comes down to Sacramento for the annual Western Swing Society Hall of Fame weekend in October.

Hello Mylos,

I met Paul a little over 15 yrs. ago. When I spoke to him he did indeed say Joe was one of his favorite fiddlers. I believe he took a few lessons from Joe at one time.

One of my friends and I drove down to Sacramento for the Western Swing Show in Oct of 1996. We gave Paul a ride to the motel after the show one evening.

IMHO, Paul reminds me of a Gypsy fiddler.

Roger,

Since you mentioned Paul A.-- The Lost Weekend bunch is going to be up in Elko NV next weekend I think it is. Both Bobby Black and Paul Anastasio will be on deck. This is the first time those guys have been up that way so it will be a rare chance for people up in that neck of the woods to catch them.

I'm not sure of the exact dates, so I'll check with
Don and post them here. Stand by....

I have never been to the Cowboy Poetry deal they have going up there, but people have been raving about it for years and badgering me to go. I think this might be the year.
