Time Jumpers Nominated For Two Grammys

Post by robert kramer »

The Time Jumpers have been nominated for two Grammys: (1) for Best Country Performance by a duo or group w/vocals for the song "Sweet Memories" on the CD "Jumpin' Time"(Crosswinds) and (2) Best Country Instrumental Performance for "Fidoodlin' also from the CD "Jumpin' Time" (Crosswinds)

This is great honor for the Time Jumpers and especially for our great friend, John Hughey, who will always be with us!

Outstanding! I love everything the Time Jumpers do but I'll have to say that Fidoodlin' is my all-time favorite instrumental that they do. As they say, "if that one don't light your fire, your wood's wet!" I really hope they win them both. A great tribute to a great musical group and to our beloved Papa John.

I'm excited also and hope John H is looking down. I'm also happy to see Charlie Louvin's album in the folk catagory but was disappointed to see no nominations for Porter Wagoner's "Wagonmaster"

Did anyone tape the show? I could not get Nashville Channel 8 down here, if anyone tape the show and can put it on a DVD I would pay you to send me a copy of the Time Jumper's show tonight.
Thanks,
Bill

Mr.Bill Stroud, The Time Jumper's DVD is available from their web site:

http://www.thetimejumpers.com/

This is the same show Nashville Public Television aired last night. The Time Jumpers' DVD features both Grammy nominated songs. Every song features the great singing of Carolyn Martin & Dawn Sears plus extensive solos from John and the band. This is Nashville at it's best!

I know John is smiling down on the Time Jumpers. This is a well deserved award and about time. This is a fantastic group of musicians and singers. I will drop by and see them the next time I get to Nashville.

I watched them on Npt last night and they were awesome, as always. Sweet Memories was especially great. Sure will miss Mr. Hughey. I was glad to see Aubrey Haney playing fiddle with them, too. He played on a project for me some years ago. Very proud for them!

Not to dis any of the other nominees, but this project is not only magically wonderful but represents a great collection of John Hughy's performances from the last few years. For those that don't know, the producer of this project is Terry Choate who is a steel player himself. Please vote for The Time Jumpers.

Now there's a contrast, Montgomery Gentry and the Time Jumpers. After witnessing MG backstage at Dauphin last year our guitar player uttered, "Which one's Bobby and which ones Gentry?".
