Oh dear, the cat is out of the bag...
As some of you may remember I had to sell my dear custom Asher EH some time ago, due to a huge bill from the (Norwegian) IRS. Well, about a month ago I got mail from Bill Asher saying he had heard about the sale and couldn't imagine me without one of his guitar, so he offered me an Asher EH Junior - for free! Surely an offer I couldn't refuse...
Bill and Jessica got hearts of gold, so coming up with a couple of demos was the least I could do in return..
When I think about it - life can be quite okay..

now, where's that teardrop!? |
For sale, it just didn't stand up against the new spruce/walnut standard Lazy River so I never play it anymore. Rance and me have 'something special' in the works (actually, it's only in theory so far, but it will be übercool when/if it's done... ). _________________ "Play to express, not to impress"

Bravo Steinar
As always, your playing floors me!
Those will sell a few Junior's I imagine
(I couldn't get the clips to play in IE7 but they worked fine in Firefox). |

Glad to hear you have a new Asher, Steinar. I've always felt a little sheepish about taking "Lizzy" from you |

Very nice sound clips. Is the instrument similar at all to your previous Asher in terms of tone and playability or does it have it's own thing going on?
Thanks. |

Congrats Steinar, hope good things come from this for you, you deserve it, are they your own back tracks, they sound great. |

Amazing tone and phrasing as usual, Steinar! I sure wish I had some of that "Norske magi" in my playing.
Your southern neighbor.

Cool Steinar, I thought I caught a "Pink Floyd" lick in there. |

No, you shouldn't - I hope you still enjoy her company!

It definitely has a different voice,- the upside is a more focused and tighter tone, the downside is it lacks the airy "3-dimensional" resonance of the semi acoustic custom (as you would expect from a solidbody model).
Scale length is the same, only difference in playability is that the string spacing at the bridge is closer (the custom was spaced like an acoustic weissenborn) and the bridge itself is a stop tailpiece so it's slightly curved. Doesn't bother me at all though.

That's unintentional, but I just had to throw in a "Sleepwalk" quote in the ballad..
