Archie, White steels are made by a guy in Yorkshire here in the U.K. Not sure if they are still being made, but I know someone who still uses his (D-10) and it looked very well made. Heavy though!!

Hard to sell 'cause it's left-handed , but an innovative design, the next step in pedal steel evolution! A pad on the side AWAY from the player! What won't they think of next??!!
Does eBay have a rule that steel guitars have to be shown with the pedals set up backwards??? Second one I've seen in a week. I wonder, What did they hook the pedal rods to? |

It looks like a Sho-Bee or a Zee-Bud or with the pedals like that, a Dub-eez and a Eeb-Ohs. Great for playing when you come home sloshed and it looks Ok.
You play it with your elbows and hang on to pad.

That's not a pad for the player. That is a bar for the groupies to put their drinks on while they gaze dreamy-eyed at the fascinating man making all that beautiful music, and wonder what kind of pickups he prefers... (Well, I can dream too, can't I?) |

It's the new trend. Steel bars are replacing piano bars everywhere. Anybody know where to buy ferns wholesale?

It was originally a right hander, then converted to left, so could easily be reverted |

Years ago , the Rail Road used several people to
run the train = Fireman - brakeman -etc.
Air Craft flight crews were made up , pilot - co-pilot & Engineer
Maybe this guitar was set up for an Engineer & Player , one on the
controls & one playing -- |

Richard, thanks for doing the research! So this one really IS left-handed! (I don't think that goes for the others I've seen, but maybe I've been hasty.)
Jim, I guess all ya need is one of these guitars and a good pickup line! |

This guitar was made by a guy called Cliff White. Cliff's guitars were pretty good actually. He came from Driffield in Yorkshire. |

Britt, at Scotty's Convention a couple of years ago in the consignment room they had a BMI S-12 (maybe an SD-12) Universal which had no pad but it was a double wide body with the neck on the inside. The outside area where a neck should have been was just the plain black Mica like the rest of the guitar. I meant to ask the BMI people about it but I never did. Maybe Dan Burnam knows something about it....JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |
