It seems that you could order a 'Bud in almost any color you wanted.
Has anyone ever seen one? |

If I remember correctly, Jack Smith had a purple ShoBud that he played with the Happy Goodmans around 1969-1973 or so. Jack told me that Shot used to call it "Ole Purple". |

I'd think that any guitar made from purpleheart in the 60s would have faded away from purple a LONG time ago. _________________ Gary Shepherd

I suppose my question was somewhat loaded.
Here's my new Pro 1 - I think I'll keep this one.
It played good out of the case, but I haven't had time to clean her up yet. It's only 3x2 right now, but I'll be adding to make it a 3x4. I am also thinking about changing to a white fretboard (as if this thing doesn't look wild enough) and having Jerry Wallace wind me a pickup to original specs, as the newer style Sho-Bud pickup is not tapped.

Okay, so purple is not for everyone. Don't worry though, the only thing gold on this one will be the rope inlay. |

Wow...pretty cool. My old pal Mark Vidito recently picked up a purple Rayline and he put some white fretboards on it, so here's an idea of how yours might look with a white fretboard. I like it...
