I can't, in good conscience, get the steel from Dave. It's his, he bought it. Now, Dave may consider selling it, but I doubt he'd let it go that cheap. I wouldn't let him.

I was just looking at Billy Cooper's website and there is a Thomas guitar for sale there. It's at the bottom of the used steels page. No picture so I guess you have to call and ask for a photo.

Well the cat is out of the bag that is the thomas I was talking about.

I played the above guitar at Billy Coopers and I was impressed with it, to me it looks modern I don't know the age of it exactly. It played smooth and had a good tone, it was a guitar at there shop I kept walking back to.

If I ever get the spare $ I wil get that PSG. But it is worth the $.

I would say it is worth at least 2200.00 for the same quality steel. I do have a D10 I can part with for less.

Bobby Bowman and I talked to Barry on the 21st of March and he had just purchased a building in Chickasha OK. I beleive it was the old Century building. He was going to move his machine in and start producing again on a small scale. I hope to have a new one made someday. At the Dallas show I got to spend some time with Carl Robinson who worked with Barry and built these guitars. He was very helpful and will to share his knowledge. I finally got pictures of the one I got in Dallas. Not as beautiful as it was but I can sure tell you it sounds sweet. As soon as Barry gets up and running this is going back and get a new shine.

The little bundle of joy under is our new addition Sugarfoot.

Fast story on this guitar, it was my idea to the color and star on that guitar, I was working with Barry at the time, he wanted to do one for the Dallas show, and I said do Dallas Cowboys colors, and the Cowboy's star.. so we did, the guy who bough it wasn't a football fan, and said the star reminded him of the star of David

..as I said in a earlier post. Russ Hicks played it all weekend that year, He really liked the guitar...

the real star of david is a six pointed star!

interestingly enough..it can be interpreted as the two energy fields (male/female) surrounding our body, and when set in motion as counterrotating tetrahedrons,(merkaba), can facilitate astral travel.

the five pointed star is for football teams and flags.

but actually, the star of david (wright) was kinda clever...

I had the pleasure of visiting Barry in his shop in Modesto a few (well, maybe more than a few) years ago. The man is a multi-millionaire, and built steels as a hobby, His computerized machine shop was state of the art that was better equipped than many professional machine shops.

Small wonder he made a fine guitar. Freed from the economic aspects of building, and doing it for the sheer love of building steels, he was able to make each guitar as perfect as he could get it.

I, too, had the pleasure of visiting Barry maybe 8-10 years ago here in Modesto. I do little woodworking and he really had nice stuff, all Powermatic back when it was USA made. Nice CNC, too. I think I may have seen that Cowboy guitar as he was packing up a trailer for the Dallas show - Barry obviously wasn't a Niners fan. I saw your white powder coat Sierra, too, David. Whitest thing I ever saw...
