Well it finally happened. One of my dreams as a steel picker finally came to pass. The Kevin Fowler Band (my steel gig) was invited to perform for Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic Festival. (A big deal here in central Texas). Lots of bands, and quite a few fans

Anyway, a few weeks ago Willie Nelson's management announced that he was going to take a break from doing the picnic this year. Afterall, he's been doing it for something like 25 years now. Our first thought was "Gee, now we have to find an alternate gig" and "What a bummer not getting to play at Willie's wing-ding". Well, our mananger, Jay Lamb, quickly made the right calls, contacted the right folks and was instrumental in organizing our alternate gig:

"Willie's Day Off 4th of July Picnic Festival"
We're hopin' to pick-up the slack in the party crowd that was going to go to Willie's picnic.

See the details at:

If'n ya ain't got nothin' better ta' do, come on out. It'll be a hoot!

Keep on pickin'!
Glenn
