My wife and I are heading off to Ireland next week as a 15th anniversary celebration. I thought it'd be a good idea to consult the collective wisdom of my friends on the Forum about any must-see sights, golf courses, accommodations and pubs. Any recommendations? Thanks- Steve

Hi John! Our plans are fully unformed, beyond the fact that we arrive in Shannon on the 22nd. We're travelling with some old friends, renting a van, and basically winging it. Partly because nobody has had time to do any planning! We'll be in Ireland for about 10 days. I'm really looking forward to it, as is my wife. Her last name is O'Sullivan, so we want to try to track down her origins, as well as my side of the family.- Steve

Well Steve ,There are many places to visit and I could fill the page telling you about them. However I would suggest Counties Kerry/West Cork and Clare as a must. The scenery is spectacular with many places geared for tourists.there should be plenty of music in the bars too mostly traditional and middle of the road.If its Steel Guitar you are looking for ,well I am afraid you won't find much of it.At least not down in the South of the Country.I am in County Waterford(Ballyduff Upper)which is in the west of the county.I don't know what my work schedule will be but if you are comming this way let me know!...JOHN

John and Basil- I'm on my way shortly! There's a lot of variables involved, but I'd be pleased if I got a chance to by you a pint!- Steve

My mothers side of the family are all from County Claire and I'd love to go (the "Day" family....no relation that I know of to Jimmy).
I got to produce a few albums on an Irish artist named Andy Cooney and there was talk about cutting one of the albums in Dublin, but...we ended up doing it in Nashville and NY. Maybe one of these days.
I'm sure you'll have a great time.
