For those of you who listen to Eddie Stubbs on WAMU-FM(Washington, D.C.) via the Internet or on 88.5, the station has done some big programming changes effective this weekend.
Eddie's show has bounced around on the new schedule and for now, is set for Saturdays, 3-6pm EDT.

they also canned their long-standing Drive time weekday Bluegrass programming, which was second only to "Morning Edition" in funds raised in the last WAMU pledge drive... makes sense to me!?
This way D.C. listeners can have "All Things Considered" on two stations at once within a few centimeters of each other on the dial... now that's the dedication to Diversified Programming that NPR is so "famous" for

What makes it worse is that all of those Bluegrass listeners sent in a lot of cash during the recent pledge drive-- cash to keep Bluegrass on-the-air, at least until the next "funder" in the fall.
I think that the WAMU management(?)has really shot themselves in the foot on this one.

Which gets me back to my old gripe about government funding of the arts. First of all, the government has no funds of its own. It's taxpayer dollars. Some fuzzy headed bureacrat gets to direct a whole bunch of our money towards some pet project of their own without regard to whether the public actually wants it.
