What a fine tribute to a man we'll all miss, not only for this and all his other wonderful contributions, but also for his inspiring, posting participation in the forum.

Terry
Thanks for posting the video. I've
been here at work all day thinking
about the funeral and the family,
wishing I could have went.
I love John's great big smile at the
end of the video.

The way that song was played actually portrayed the what that song was about. Played by a giant of a gentleman, and a tremendous musician. Thanks Terry for the reminder of what we are all capable of doing on the steel, just that we can't get it done like that. |

Terry, why don't you do this one and send it to me for the web site? www.etsga.org/steelguitarplayers.htm
I bet you would do a bang-up job on it. _________________ Charles Tilley ,

Hi Charles
Thanks so much for the nice compliment. I do have this song recorded on a video but it is an API file. If I can pull the audio off it, I'll be glad to send it to you. I'll see what I can do.
Thanks again

The last time I saw John perform this instrumental the club was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. When he finished the song. He received a very loud standing ovation. |

Terry: Thanks for letting all of us forumites hear this song once again, by our late and beloved John.It is one of my favorite melodies that John always did such a fantastic job; and we know that the tune certainly brought the Steel Guitar to the fore-front of our music business. May he rest in peace..Bernie _________________ 2007 Zum S-10; 1967 Sho-Bud [ D-10 ]; 85 S-10 Sierra; 1953 Multi-Kord [ 6 String- 4 pedals ] A Sho-Bro six String Resonator Guitar; Nashville 112 Amp; hilton Vol. Pedal |
