Hey Erv, no one said it was easy. I have the correct gold tuners for your factory key-head. You could even send me the key-heads and I'll install the tuners of your choice. From Grover Imperials down to gold Klusons.
But then again, your guitar looks fine, so why not let well enough alone.
Your buddy,

Boy Erv, someone changed the necks, changer and everything huh? '66? What is left of the '66?
I also have a number 1002-D. and so does a guy in South Carolina, weird, but just shows you what was really going on at the factory in those years. Less taxes to pay if you sell several guitars as one, with one serial number for all. I have had several Emmons P-P guitars with no serial numbers! Ever!

Bobbe,
You're spot on! I bought this guitar with black wood necks and I swapped the necks out with the sunburst guitar that came with metal necks. You are well aware that the changers had to be changed around also. I never could see a mica guitar with wood necks. Kind of like putting a saddle on a sow!
