Not even an honorable mention for GARY STEWART?

Ralph Emery introduced him as the King of Honky Tonk singers one night.

I was going to say Gary Stewart also. He, to me, defines honky tonk

Hey Dick .... this is my class!!! Thanks for all the great responses. This goes to show how many country honky tonk songs are out there (some that even I was thinking about).... songs that I hope everyone has in their play lists on a regular basis. I both play and sing in the band and I think my favorite is I Never Go Around Mirrors or was it ___________(fill in the blank). Maybe I should have ask for everyone to name 3. 1 slow, 1 medium and 1 fast.

Webb Pierce - "There stands the glass" -- banned from airplay when it first came out .

And maybe it's the glass or the "Would you settle for the roses" in LJ's post (yeah, maybe it was the roses), but John Conlee's "Rose colored glasses".

You can have all those legendary hits. I like, "Settin' the Woods on Fire," and, "I won't be Home no more." Both by Hank, the one and only.
