I was wondering if any of you know of a collector or are a collector of old records. I have about 200 various artist but this one the oldest. Its The Carter Family's first record released by Victor in Nov, 1927. Side A- The Orphan Child and side B The Wondering Boy. Any ideas let me know. Thanks, Glenn

78's don't seem to go for much.
In fact if you go to all the collector sites, and check completed auctions on eBay, the average price for a Carter Family 78 is under $10.

A completely unused mint condition of "Orphan Child" could possibly bring almost $20.

Their popularity and the number of recordings they made relegate their collectibility to minimum values. You'd be lucky to get $5-$10 for it. For records to be valuable, they must be rare, and Carter Family records are anything but.
