How about one of you local Nashville guys or Gals, checking out the "not so well known players", that are playing the clubs around town? We know about Johnny Cox,Paul Franklin, Mike Sweeney, etc. but we dont hear about Tootsies, & other Lower Broadway places. also Printers Alley, and some of the outer Clubs in the area? I'm sure there must be some good pickers around town, that we would like to get some info on! Thanks! kr

That's a tough one to answer. Because you never know who is playing in those clubs on Broad st. I do know that you can hear some good steel players down there but it I don't know what days or times. The last I heard Dan Gaylish was playing at the Fiddle and Steel bar in Printers Alley on the weekends. As far as steady house jobs with a regular steel player there just ain't that many and as far as I know I'm the only one in town here that works every night of the week. It's not like it used to be when there were steel players in about all of the clubs. If you get to town check out Johnny Cox at the Station Inn on Mon. night and come see me at the Nashville Palace. Maybe by then something else will be going on. Mike

Great band at the Nashville Palace. I also saw Wayne Dahl at Tootsies a couple of Wednesdays ago. Good man of steel. Best, Boomer

I ran into Randall Currie @ Legends one night & Gary Morse there the next night. Both were sounding as great as ever although I think Randall's too young to play that good.

Gary Morse is at the Wildhorse Saloon for one more week playing with Sonny Burgess. BTW - that's Gary on the recording of Sonny's hit "When In Texas" and he also played on the cut entitled: "Tears In The Eyes of Texas". Great playing and from what Sonny tells me, a SUPER guy..!
