my girlfriend phoned me last night after she went to the ray lamontagne gig at the royal albert hall saying i should check out his steel player as he stole the show.

she didn't get his name - anyone know who he is?

I think that it's Eric Heywood...Great player.

i just checked some of his stuff on youtube - thats some tone he's got there

He also played on the most recent album by Jeffrey Foucault, "Ghost Repeater".
He's a super-tasteful player and the songs are great.
He was also on a bunch of the Richard Buckner stuff (after Lloyd Maines).

I don't contradict this info---my last info is over a year old. At that time the steeler with LaMontagne was Doug Pettibone.
