I have just completed a NEW Leavitt Course project and it is now available to all Leavitt Lovers and others. It includes 10 Songs in Tablature with a matching CD.
Also the Leavitt Fretboard and Chord Charts for the key of C…. identifying the standard Pop and Jazz Chords which you will now be able to find and play by picking the strings as indicated
up and down the Fretboard. Moreover you will have the notes that make up the chord at your fingertips.
All of the charts are easily transposed to any key making it possible to take a musical score and find all of what used to be regarded by me as mysterious monsters. It saves me so much time when
Arranging a song for this fine tuning.
The Songs:
Don’t Get Around Much Anymore …You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To
Girl From Ipenema….Over The Rainbow….Don’t Blame Me
Whispering….Dreamy Waikiki….Deed I Do….Something Stupid
May You Always
Introduced within is my 8 String Set–up for the Leavitt Tuning.
High to Low: ..D—C—Bb—G—E—C#--A—G
You will note the first six strings maintain the original set-up and it is strings 7 and 8 that have been added. Notwithstanding ALL OF
THE SONGS CAN BE PLAYED ON EITHER SIX OR EIGHT
STRING GUITARS.
It is my feeling that this Course will shed much understanding on a beautiful and effective Tuning and help to increase it’s popularity and acceptance in the Steel Guitar World.

Roy,
This is a great service you're offering the steel community. Your playing and arrangements are fantastic. Anyone who has ever tried the Leavitt Tuning will love it and anyone who hasn't tried it should get it to learn what an amazing tuning this is.
Thanks for keeping Bills creation alive.

Just when I was about to order your first Leavitt course you have 'upped the ante' with this new course featuring 8 strings. I think I'll have to get this course now because I would like to see the Leavitt tuning expanded to 8 strings.
I love the tuning and I especially like what you are doing with it.
email to follow.

Thanks Roy for sharing Over The Rainbow with us. I hope others interested in the Leavitt tuning don't miss this beautiful version of a great song. I can't wait to receive my course and see how you were able to get the 'moving harmony' parts. Sure you didn't slip in a pedal steel on this one?

No pedals Therman
I found that if I start with
a backward slant on strings 2
and 4, followed by straight position
and then a forward slant.. while all
the time maintaining the top
string constant..I am able to get
a pedal simulation.
That is the effect I think you are
referring to in Over The Rainbow.
Have a nice weekend and your
course is ready for mailing
on Monday BTW.
