Billy I caught Janie's show last Fri on the RFD Channel. Janie is still a hot entertainer, wow! Your steel and lead guitar really caught my ear as did the rest of the band. The MSA really sounded good and your tele sound was the best I have heard plus both instruments looked so nice. Please give us a heads up when you all are going to be on TV again.

Hey Billy H.

I will definitely give everybody a headsup when I KNOW we are going to be on TV. Apparently, they (RFD T.V.) did not let us know they were going to air that episode. I would have let all know about a T.V. airing If I had known.

Thanks for the kind words regarding my playing and tone. I owe a lot of my playing and tone to these guys:
Reece Anderson, Jr. Knight, Gary Carpenter, Boo Miller, Jeff Agnew. Each one of these guys took the time out of their busy schedule at some point to show me something cool and worthwhile on Pedal Steel.

As far as Guitar, I owe a lot of my playing style to these guys:
Reggie Young, Greg Galbreath, Steve Gibson, Dan Huff, Kelly Back, Jerry Reed, Steve Wariner, Brent Mason and last but definitely not least...my favorite picker on guitar......MR. Ricky Skaggs.

As far as tone goes...I play my steel through the Stereo Steel rack unit.
My Tele is played through a POD XT LIVE and a Fender Black Face Twin.

My Guitars: MSA Millennium 2 Carbon Fiber double 10.
StoneTree custom Telecaster with B bender and custom Lindy Fralin pickups.

ONLY a little verb on my steel...nothing else.
Just a little verb, compression and delay on guitar...sometimes I have to use the overdrive to cover the tunes correctly.

Thanks again for the kind words brother.
Please come by and check out the show in Waxahachie if you can.

B

Billy
Have a great show and I wish I could be there but I am doing a show in Canton.....
Some of the older singers I have heard lately have started losing the edge they had when they were in the top 40. Not Janie. She still rocks.
Good luck with yours........

Hi Billy, were you playing steel with Janie in 1981?
Thanks,
Jerry

Hey Jerry,

No...that was not me in the early 80's. Janie had a Nashville based band back then. I didn't even start playing guitar till 1980. Picked up Pedal Steel just a few years ago to get more studio work.

I will ask Janie if she remembers who the Steeler was back then.

If you're not busy, drop by and see the show and say Hello. Love to see you.

Billy, the reason I asked was that she performed in my town and her steel player was playing an Emmons. I talked with him and he put me on to Bryan Adams who built my '81 push pull that I still have. Thanks for the response. Maybe you will be in my area of Arkansas some time and I can see you.
