A Talented Young Guy

Post by Lillie Powles »

I came across this young guy that makes his own recordings, and videos. This may not be your kind of music. But for us younger crowd, i really enjoy it. I think he has great potential as a song writer, singer, and studio engineer. He has at least got the basics down. His name is Rex Hermogino, and i think he is pretty resourceful, in making the video with just the basic things around his apartment. Watch the video, then how he made it. I think he's neat.

How he recorded the track and video. It keeps stopping on my computer, but it will play.

Hi Lillie,

I think you're right. He does have a lot of talent and he thinks outside the box. It was interesting to see his equipment and how hd did the video. This makes me aware of how little a lot of us use our tools at our disposal. Speaking for myself, I tend to use a new tool while it is new and then move on to something else. I guess that is why we buy new guitars all the time. Larry

Lillie, thanks for the post. I really enjoyed Rex's music video and the "how it was made" video also. He seems like a really talented guy with a great personality that comes through on screen.

nice links. yes, he is a talented and fresh guy.
I have little doubt he will find his internet girl(s).

his editing is good. there is something fresh in it;
something satirical and familiar, yet his personality comes through.
the music is very current, but more real.

Lillie,
I thought that this was amazing. There is something so mystical and cool to dubbing layers of his own voice, lip syncing in the video, the neat shooting etc. To a person who has always found all this stuff to have an aura of magic around it, it was a breath of fresh air.
Imagine the talent that the guy must have. Thanks for posting this!

Nice stuff. Not at all my type of music but this video drips melody & good vibes. Nice to hear new younger music that is not self conscious or self absorbed. This video can't stand a chance on MTV. Where are the spikey odd coloured hair, tatoos and piercings?

Put over here by mistake, but i think i will just leave this here for now. I think all the moderators do an excellent job, and they can't read every post. LMP

a talented young guy

Post by Gene H. Brown »

I just wanted to say that I am an older guy, but this young man has some talent to be able to put the whole thing together and sing, play piano, guitar synithized bass and write and film, it takes a special kind of dedicated person to be able to do all that even though he probably had a lot of time to kill, because it, I can guarentee took some time and some talent. I've played sessions my whole life on and off in studios and to get that tight of sound and do it by yourself and not just audio, but video :D is a lot of work.
