DFW Steelman needs a country honky tonk band to play in
Our band, loose change, is looking to completly change thier venue and moving to the more modern progressive country sound.
They will not be in need of a steel guitar for this venue.
Even if if they did I would not want to play this type of music anyway.
It will be heavy rock distorted guitar and keyboards.
Although I wish them all the luck in the world I wish this had been expressed a year ago when other groups were pursueing me for thier bands.
Oh well....a lesson learned
I am availible in the DFW area for Friday and Saturday night gigs if a traditional country band is looking for a steel man.
I am no where near or close to the best steel man in DFW but I have been told that I'm pretty good buy my some of my peers.
Still learning somthing new everyday.........
Thanks again
I can be reached at the following number......

David, I posted an ad some time back in the Jobs Section about the Gatlin Mcadoo Band needing a steel player.
I think his guitar player who is learning steel is doubling on both during the night.
If you haven't already talked to him you might give him a call. They only work fri-sat nights 2-3 weekends a month and play a mix of top forty and traditional. Gatlin loves steel and will let you wear it out...lol
Gatlin's number is 903-574-5762
Secondly,I play with the Coby Mcdonald Band around Dallas and sometimes I need a fill in on weeknights now and then.
If that's something you'd like to consider,we are playing at WW Fairfields in Richardson this week (Wed-Sat) where you could come listen and let me know what you think.

Talked to the Texas T band and Vicki Gatling with Sourthern Rains
Both are interested as soon as they have gigs to play in.
I also talked to Dennis Kent with The Texas T Band as of yesterday but they are not booked again untill Thanksgiving weekend in Farrar Texas. I will be out of town in Wichita, Kansas with my family that weekend.
Still looking for a pickup gig or two somewhere.
If anyone needs a weekend off or a night off call me....
I play guitar and also sing harmony.
I have my own mic, and anything else I need.
Thanks

Well..........
Really nothing changed as I see it.
I am still playing quite a lot but not with the same band. I am looking for a steady 2 or 3 weekends a month with the same band. I would like to stay in the DFW area. I have driven as far as 85 miles for $75.00. I would rather not if possible.
I can play some of the old-new stuff like LeeAnn Womack, Dixies Chickens, George Strait, Alan Jackson and most of the older stuff that I have heard.
Merle, Buck, so forth.
Email me if anyone knows of anything.
Like I said I ain't no where near as good as some of you guys but I think I can hold my own in a honky tonk band. I played last week with a member frommy old group Loose Change, Jerry Cook.
Jerry filled in for a lead guy that went to GA... I was also filling in for the steel man. Boy I sure do miss those guys. They miss me too, Jerry said, and I guess I am kinda happy about that. They are all great musicians.
Let me know and thanks....

WOW! Jimmy
Great web site and even greater history you guys have had. I can't believe you guys. So much experience. You guys must be in big demand in the Northeast.
Here is a picture of me at the Famous Stagecoach Ballroom in Ft Worth Texas with Babara Ford & Loose Change.
Mosey on down to our little part of the world when you can and stay piece.
HA! allways wanted to say that!
I am a born again Texan!
There is no place like it anywhere in this big old world.
Go oversea and ask a person from Nevada where he is from and he will tell you he is from the USA or the states.
A Texan if ask if he is from the states will tell you flat, NO SIR! I'm from Texas.
Hope you can make it to the Dallas Steel Show. I would love to meet you guys.
