Hi Micky!!! yea we do, God made the perfect head, them messed up the rest with Hair...!!
to be honest on the key less thing, just take to much money to re design the guitar to be key less, plus, the desing of the key less head, let's face it, we @ MSA, would want our own design on it... then you have to look at the key less market....It's not for everyone... and you ask,,,,, why it isn't for everyone.... simply

I doubt it. In case you don't realize it, there's a lot of effort and money that goes into design and manufacture of pedal steels. Most manufacturers (big manufacturers, that is), don't cater to "one off" concepts because there's no money in it. They're in the business, not for the love of making people happy, but for making a product that produces a profit. Pedal steels aren't big sellers in the first place, and when you consider that probably less than 10% of all players prefer keyless designs, it's little wonder that most builders choose to avoid that sector.

| It's my understanding that the keyhead design/dimensions of the MSAs are part of the overall resonant qualities of the guitars. Builders who offer both keyed and keyless use different body types.. |

David, I was responding to Roger - not you! 
Roger - when you build a good, reliable guitar, it's all about precision. To maintain that precision, you need special tools and tooling fixtures (or jigs), and maybe even machining programs if you're using CNC equipment. Somebody has to design and make all that stuff, and buy whatever else (different hardware) that's needed to make an entirely different type of steel. The changer is different, the cabinet is different, the necks would probably be different, and the pedal board is also different. Cases would have to be modified, as well (or repurchased), to accomodate the smaller size. Even the insrtruction manual would have to be redone.
If they didn't sell enough keyless models to pay for all this, then the the buyers of the keyed guitars would have to make up the difference  - or the company would have to "eat" the loss.  |

Buy a new MSA (or whatever) and I'll mill a keyless head for it.
