Thanks for the welcomes! I've already learned quit a bit being in the threads versus just reading others responses, I tell you I've never seen such a community of sharing with any of the other instruments I play. Usually its petty competition and egos, and I hav'nt seen that with Steel players yet.

Steve,

Greetings from another Seattleite...West Seattle to be exact. Glad to see another Seattle steel player around these parts.

Plenty to absorb here for sure!

Hey Steve,
Great to hear from you and welcome!

I am a GFI D10 owner also.

That is my best investment along with the Hilton

(no hassle) pedal.

You'll have fun here.

Thanks for the welcomes, yeah Rodney, the only problem with playing a gfi+ hilton is getting spoiled, every time I play other peoples stuff it feal's like the equip is going to fall apart! Brian I play with Carrie Biell and sit in for westerly now and again, have we met?

We haven't met, Steve. I play drums for a blues/country/rock cover band called Glad. Although new to pedal steel, I've managed to put together a set of covers I can do on steel and we get a fill in drummer for the few gigs we do. Love it.

Honestly I'm just getting my bearings as a steel player. I'll catch up with you sometime in the future. I see from the Carrie Biell and Westerleys myspace pages that you perform around here. Nice dobro work on sample piece I listened to. Would hope to see you out sometime soon.

I don't post a lot here. I do what I call "lurk and learn".

:D Steve, those other members are right about joining the absolutely correct forum which you are going to love; Jump around the different sites here-on; many many things to absorb; lots of good teachers and plenty of great steel playing; watch for Bill Ferguson's U-Tube clips of several of the big names in steel Guitar; and more of the little people, like myself, whom just love to hear our felloe forumites perform. You'll learn a whole lot; just holler and some kind steel picker will come to your rescue..Glad to have you aboard..Regards, Bernie :whoa: :whoa:
