Sorry folks; but due to Family Problems I have to stay home from the Dale Watson Christmas Tour.
The tour is still going on as they left tonight and all scheduled gigs are confirmed. I don't know who they have pickin' in my place and it could be someone different from gigs to gigs.
See ya next time("oh sure Ricky; we heard that before )

Ricky, Just remember: you never get back the "special times" that you miss with your family and loved ones, while you're on the road. In years to come you won't regret doing what your heart tells you is right.

Hi Ricky..
Your priorities are right. Your quality of picking will always keep you in demand, on or off the road. I admire a guy with family first on the list. Tough decisions sometimes.
I missed the show last nite at Gabe's in Iowa City. I haven't heard who filled in? I met you when you played there last year. And I was impressed with your talent. Keep you head screwed on straight.

Sorry, Ricky, we won't be playing the hawaiian gig in Georgetown. We have been shot out of the saddle by all things a polka band from down around Giddings. Best wishes to you and yours. CC

Hey Ricky--I can't know what's right for you. But I trust that your choices are all about trying to do what you got to do. My wish for you is that you look deep inside yourself and can see what it is that is right for you. A guy can't do more than that.
Although I'm dragged that you won't be around NY town next week, fact is I have rehearsal that night and probably wouldn't've been there. I do believe that if you heard my band you would say "son, you go rehearse and don't worry about me" so I'm cool with that.
Very best wishes, man. |

Thanks for the heads up Ricky- it will make my time at Dale's show tonight more enjoyable. I was looking forward to meeting you and saying howdy sooner rather than later (having never met you before), but later will be just fine. I really do understand about family first and I respect the heck out of you for doing that. I know what a tough decision it is. My best wishes to you- Sage |

Hopefully their will be another time; but you never know about this music business thing>"it can be anything at anytime".

Say Ricky, we sure did miss you this past Friday night at Louie's, but we all understand the situation, and I must say that Dale was at his usual best. Although Rob did not do a lot of steel work, his new Remington was put to good use on a few songs. His twin playing on lead with Dale was great, and to see Scott and Billy D again, was great. JoeLynn White was an added feature and the place was packed.
Dale and the guys got started about 11:15 and ended about 1:15, so we had two great hours of some of his Christmas CD and his well-known songs. Attending this function with me was Sage Harmos, who already has posted a response here, and Ken and Barb Hippler. Ken is a local radio DJ here, and on Saturday afternoon has a radio program on KFAI that plays nothing but traditional country music. I believe that the radio show is available on the net a week or so after broadcast at www.kfai.org, or do a search for kfai and you should be able to pick it up and give it a listen.
Hope to see you guys back in the area sometime soon. Here's hoping you all have a great Christmas and Happy new year.

Great Dennis; glad the show went good. Thanks for the heads up review. I believe my Brother Kevin Owens will be taking up the tour in Indiana and finish it out. So ya'll refer to the schedule I posted in another post/topic for the dates near you. Kevin is a great Pedal Steel player and playes Jimmy Days' original Blue Darlin' and plays it dang well.
