Emmons SS-8

Post by Patrick Tipton »

Emmons push pull SS-8, 4 pedals 1 knee. Standard Emmons setup, extra pedal lowers D string to C#. This guitar is in excellent condition and smooth playing. The one bent rod in the picture that has been repaired.

A great starter guitar for someone who wants a PP but doesn't want to spend big $$. $875 + shipping

Thanks, Patrick

This guitar weighs about 38 pounds in the case. This is a sweet little instrument - I don't need two steels at this point.

Thanks, Patrick

The 8 string Emmons guitars were extremely rare, not many of them were ever made. I once saw a Hawaiian number being played on the old Lawrence Welk TV Show where They used a SS-8.

Well, I have only seen one single neck Emmons and that was years ago at a Springfield, MO music store window.

It looked like this steel pictured, but it only had two floor pedals and one knee on it. I think they were asking around $500 then, but that was around 1975.

Thanks for the comments. It is a sweet little machine. The guitar found a nice new home in the great state of Texas.
