After 48 hrs. of attitude adjusting, I realize the obvious, a need for a public appology, and am ready for my dessert of an entire crow pie.

I've abused this fine forum and it's participants on occassion and in particular, this last week, and regret many of the things I inflicted towards my friends, fellow posters, and the SGForum family as a whole, as well as the HSGA.

I let the minor pressures of life and it's monthly demons get the better of me, allowing the little devil on my shoulder to take a dump and leave a big chip, and I took it out on you guys.

I'm sorry.

Actions speak louder than print, and I will let actions of good will supplant words of frustration from now on.

Maybe the saying is true, that you always hurt the ones you love, and lately I couldn't have made a better case for that old adage.

Whatever it was that you did will more than be balanced over with a good apology like you just gave. Bravo.

GEEEEZ Ron. Are you and/or I on ESP or ayahuasca, or sump'n? I just finished a 12 hour marathon clarifying the "Nuremberg" quip that I instigated, not you, ...and gross confusion and eagerness on others' parts throughout the subject discussions, as most of us are prone to sometimes do. I just finished posting links on this board / section within minutes of your posting.

How in the world can I convince folks you and I haven't even talked in weeks, ...when we click like this?????

You got any insight on lottery numbers or Vegas?

Oooooo yea, Gary. I'll take some of that medicine.

I kept my bars and picks in a loaded medicine bag for years ....until someone (or Da Shadow) decided they needed it more than I.

Ron W-I have posted on several recent Forum threads relevant to the HSGA (of which I am a member) including the one which you started and are (I believe) now apologizing for-In light of the emotions and opinions evoked therein I have resolved that any further OPEN PUBLIC DISCUSSION of the HSGA on my part will be done on the HSGA Forum (where I realize it belongs) and not on The Steel Guitar Forum-PW

Well, some good did come of this, at least for me. I followed the thread and became more aware of the HSGA and what it represents. Visited it, liked what I saw and yep, I'm a Big Kahuna now.

Jude - Who would still rather play Bob Wills or the original Hank than them songs that start with a K. Smile

Ron, all I see is that you were engaging in free speech and the result is I learned a few things about the subject which I didn't know before, so thank you for getting the insight going.

I do however get pissed when I hear someone jumping on the "Troll" band wagaon to put someone down just because they are engaging in free speech like Howard has done towards you back in the thread in question. I learned something from Ron's discussion and that's a good thing, and it was about steel guitar.

The one pointing the finger at someone and calling him a troll is usually being a troll himself without even knowing it?

Eh RON..Took real guts to apologize like that...you da man !
Just remember, someone has to be a sh** disturber occasionally if only to keep everyone on their toes thus creating thought, hopefully improvement, and avoiding complacency. Now that you have fulfilled the "S.D." requirements, have graciously apologized, you may wish to step down, allowing someone else to come forward who will probably stir the pot on some other controversial subject. That's the 'beauty' of the Forum, democracy, freedom of thought and speech ... right ? Very Happy

No, not at all......

What some do not realize, is that the Steel Guitar Forum is a privately owned website whose owner sets forth the standards and dictates the rules. There is no constitutional freedom of speech here.

We have a limited freedom of discussion as pertains to steel guitars and related issues. Within our limited freedom of discussion, comes responsibility which involves....netiquette....

Conversing with someone face to face is much different than typing on a keyboard....all we have are emoticons...Rolling Eyes.......we do not have the advantage of gestures, facial expression, and voice inflection, which are very important factors in communication....

Within our discussion limits....we can say whatever we want...that's the freedom......but we must make more of an effort, as to HOW we are going to say/present it...that's the responsibility part...

We can take issue, we can agree to disagree....and still be friends....if we all make the effort....which I am certainly willing to do....

Ron,
I was brought up to believe that part of being a man was being big enough to apologize when I was wrong.

You have demonstrated what I believe is sincerety in your apology. For some and I am one of them, that is not always and easy thing to do.

Another part of being a man is willingness to forgive.

Apology accepted Ron.

I would encourage you to do what you can to think positively and help others when you can. Smile

Regards,
Danny

I often say that one can talk about most anything but what matters is the way that it is said. (Similar to what Howard says)

When there is Forum discussion and differances emerge, one can still treat the other person or organization (many people) with respect. There is no place for name calling and taking one's anger out on the other person just to satisfy some inner need. It doesn't work and it is destructive. IMHO

Again Ron, Good Job!!

Aloha, Smile

Personally, I was waiting for someone to take a swipe at Jerry Byrd. What with the HSGA bashing and reference to Nazis, we were this close to the SGF version of the hat-trick! Evil Twisted
