Listening to the wildly overcompressed (in a great way) guitar part on Harold Jenkins "boogie grass band" and wondering who played it? It sounds like something Jerry Reed would play... but I don't imagine it was ol Jerry.
Anybody know? Thanks for guesses! Huge thanks if you KNOW! |

I was told that Charlie Archer(Conway's guitar player)played on that record...you may know Charlie as Loretta Lynn's steel player...Charlie is a great musician and a great guy! _________________ http://www.myspace.com/stevehinsonnashville |

I am guessing (and, I know its' not too tough a guess) Reggie.
He is credited on later albums and the compressed chicken tele twin harmonized lead break was a specialty of his...
Album was released in '78, the year Reggie was voted superpicker of the year, in Nashville... |

I'll check when I get home. I'll have to dig out the vinyl jacket. _________________ HagFan

I just talked to someone who was with the Twitty bunch at that time...he confirmed that it was indeed Charlie Archer...and that he was told as much by the Chief himself(Conway). _________________ http://www.myspace.com/stevehinsonnashville |
