Great show!!!
Needless to say-there is nothing else to add about Herbie Wallace, Joe Wright, Dave Musgrave, etc. How good they are has already been said and heard by all of us.
The audience had a treat for this Halloween season with "The Cowboy Orchestra". Eastern band-Western Swing-very,very good arrangements and flawless performance by this group. John Lemaster played great pedal steel and this group could play alongside all the famous Western Swing bands in Texas, etc.
Heard Mickey Adams for the first time. Unbelievable talent. Should this man had chosen to be a full time musician, vice Chief test Pilot for a large commercial company, Mickey would be right alongside all, and I mean ALL, the famous players we are all familiar with. This was a special treat and delight for me. And should Mickey had decided to be a full-time singer, here again he would be right alongside all the great singers we also know and like.
One more report at this time-The McKoy Brothers band was suuperb. (Had to use two "u's" because that what they were). All very young musicians-barely in their 20s-just knocked every out with their arrangements. Lead and steel twin harmonies at seventeen zillion miles an hour. Hearing those old very fast instrumentals made famous by the Leons and Buddies, Hamlett's and Companies, and then looking on the band at these young performers made my trip there worth while. There is still hope in this country when young men like these play these good standards to perfection-and a little bit faster than the "ole-timers". WOW!! You all missed a great show and performance. Plan to attend the show next year.
Thanks for this opportunity.
