I'd appreciate your recomendations re. Ralph Mooney-inspired steel recordings (not Ralph's since I already have much of that). My favorite so far is Jay Dee Mannis (sp?) on "Bakersfield Bound". I hear Tom Brumley (sp?) was into the West Coast style also. Thanks

Check out some of Mike Headrick's recordings www.countrydiscovery.com
He's even got Mr. Mooney himself guesting on several CD's.
I think you'll find Mike's "Steels on Wheels" CD has some of the sound you're looking for.....

peter - justin trevino's version of "all right i'll sign the papers" is mooney heaven - i put it in my favorite steel breaks category - i dont know who it is - but if it's not mooney the guy nearly out moons moon
