Joe Goldmark - cool player who's a bit bluesy

I've heard him with Jim Compilongo and the 10 gallon hats - very cool. Plays pedal steel western swing but has more of a straight ahead blues guitar sound as well.

Love his playing - not just "bluesy", but has a bounce to it that many players never can find. Really good stuff!
No chops, but great tone

I have all his CDs. They're all excellent but my favorite is "All over The road" which contains songs by Hendrix and Zappa, among others.

You'd be surprised. When Joe backs up a country singer, he plays all the Nashville country stuff too, and he does an excellent job when he does.Gerard Ventura wrote: he ...avoids PSG cliche licks that are otherwise all you hear on nashville countrypop.
