It's a very good overview of the work that Lloyd did for Little Darlin and captures him in right in the thick of of his prime, which he's still in really I guess.

Funny enough I just got this CD yesterday. I had to chase the UPS truck for a block before I caught up with the UPS guy who had left a note at my apartment informing me I wasn't home to sign for the package. Anyway it was worth it. Lloyd's playing is so good it's almost scary. I think you're going to like it, Stu.

Has anyone heard of an album Lloyd did for Little Darlin' called "Day of Decision"? I bought it yesterday (vinyl) and it's a collection of patriotic tunes.

Kyle..."Day For Decision" a rarity for sure...I've got the other copy(apologies to Lloyd!)Not a typical effort from Lloyd by any means.Was just checking out my "Green" anthology the other day which also includes "Sweet Cheeks" with the original cover and A copy of "Feelings" in the original vinyl(Lloyd, for some reason, was surprised that I had a copy and asked where I found it. It apparently is now being offered on CD under a different title("Stainless Steel" I think). Incidentally, I purchased the "Feelings" album a couple of weeks before I attended my first St. Louis convention in '77 and heard Lloyd play a number of cuts from that album "live"...I'm still mesmorized to this day...wow! Truly, he is a living steel guitar legend. Respectfully submitted, RK

Stu, I love these recordings too man! I'm really into "Mr Nashville Sound" right now. It's on vinyl too. there are so many great examples of Lloyd's playing... I just got this Little Darlin' era Johnny Paycheck CD called "the Gospel Truth" and duh, it's all gospel songs and there is a ton of great steeling on it. The opener "On my way home" has one of the coolest intros I've heard, totally took me by surprise...

I have most all of the LD stuff on original vinyl. Great stuff, really. What strikes me most is the total change in Lloyd's style, sound, and tone over the years. Same player, same guitar, and almost the same amp. But unless you knew, you'd swear that it's a different player, on a different guitar, who's using an entirely different amp.

I can think of no player over the years whose sound changed so much while he kept using the same gear.

I can't wait until it shows up,I don't how I missed all of this stuff,John how are things going?I saw Lloyd play live at the 2000 convention in St.Louis I sat in the front row and it was amazing watching his right hand and finally seeing how he does it,he does this thing between his thumb and third finger...anyway it opened a lot of doors for me,I also got to meet him,and his wife Dot for about a minute nice folks.Stu
