Hello,

What is the most common use of the 2nd string full step lower to C# that I have on my Eb knee lever?

Is this a useful change? My D lever lowers the second string a half tone to D. This I know gives me a dom7 chord. But what is the use of the full step lower to C#
and is there a reason it's on the same lever that lowers the E's?

Only reason is that somebody ran out of other places to put it. Obviously you lose some possible combinations if those two pulls always occur together.

It's for the "Touch My Heart" intro. That's about it, I think. Laughing

There are endless uses lowering the 2nd string a full step.

Two songs that come to mind are Touch My Heart and Nobody in his right mind.

Using the 2nd string lower in conjunction with the A pedal gives some nice unison passing note intros and although these can be done using a slant bar technique,it isn't quite as accurate.

Having the second string lowering to C# and the fourth string lowering to Eb on the same lever is a serious handicap, in my opinion.

My 'Look At Us' solo would have to undergo a complete rethink Shocked

I think you would have to add the "I don't like 1/2 stops" arguement to the "nowhere else to put it" comment to consider that change for the E lower lever, otherwise it's usually found as part of the D# to D change.
The only other reason I can think of for putting it there is if you are trying to get C6 style sounds on E9 then you have the same 9'th tone available in the same place as the D 1'st string on C6.
