We went to the Sausalito Art and Wine Festival on Labor Day to do the art and wine thing (go figure) and see NRPS. Cage was magnificent! Flawless playing, great tone (Fender Twin and a black mica guitar with no name on it). Precise picking and all those great Cage licks. Got a chance to say hi and thank him for introducing me to a world of PSG that I hadn't even known about back in 1974 when I was a young inexperienced player. I still have the cassette tapes he made for me back then of Jimmy Crawford, John Hughey, Julian Thorpe, Speedy West, Joaquin Murphy, Buddy Emmons. He said if I really wanted to hear some hot PSG, quit listening to him and listen to those guys.

I'll always appreciate the graciousness with which he helped me break through to a new level of playing back then.
