Welcome. I spent sometime in what was Calcutta and Bombay in the late 1940s. Played a little at a couple of hotels. The great Augie Gouple was there also. I lost track of him later but I heard that he was in Bombay about 18 or 20 yrs ago. I don't know what I can do to help you however if you have any ideas let me know. CC

Welcome, Ashoke. Please tell us more about what you want to know about steel guitars and steel guitar music. Are you looking for steel guitar in Indian music or in Western music? What styles of music do you like?

There's a rich history of Indian music and steel guitar, with players such as Van Shipley, Sunil Ganguly, Debashish Bhattacharya, etc. playing both classical and popular styles of Indian music.
